Refreshing Spring Things at Dollarama

In the springtime, many of us turn our attentions to sprucing up our outdoor spaces, but before you head to a department store for your backyard needs, consider these great finds from Dollarama.
Gardening gear includes a large multi-colored foam kneeling pad that's 13 3/4" by 11 3/4" and costs $2. Compare that to the same size kneeling pads at Wal-mart that cost $3.47.
Some professional grade coated knit garden gloves are $2.50 a pair at Wal-mart but only two bucks at Dollarama.
Need some extra-long handled gardening tools? The metal ones I found at the dollar store are sturdily built, have rubber grips and metal hanging loops for $2 each. At Wal-mart, you'll pay $1.96 more for the same long handled cultivator, weeder or other types of tools.
Dollar stores have lots of patio pots. A plastic planter that stands 10" tall and is 12" across is the largest I've ever seen in a dollar store and it seems pretty sturdy for two bucks. If you buy a similarly sized plastic planter at Wal-mart, it will set you back about $12.
The Schmidt brand 12" round wooden flower pot caddie with wheels is the perfect thing for sitting these large pots on. In Wal-mart, a wheeled metal plant caddie costs $14.88. The dollar store find is only two bucks.
After you get the lawn all tidied up and planted, you can decorate the deck or patio. At Dollarama, mobile style light-up insect lights cost $2. You supply the batteries that light up the three butterflies or dragonflies. Sets of solar lights in insect shapes sell for $$14.87 a string of nine at Wal-mart.
Then, invite the birds to your little patch of paradise. Dollarama has metal mesh tube bird feeders for two bucks and small bags of seed to go in it for only $1 each. Wal-mart has larger finch feeder tubes but they cost $11.98.
Dollarama has the full-sized version of the popular tree faces for only $2 each, along with something new this year, small bunches of colorful mushrooms that hang on trees in the same way. They cost $1.50 each. Tree faces at Wal-mart are $9.96 each so, if you like this kind of thing, get over to your nearest Dollarama quick before their supplies run out.
Your local dollar store has many more items for spring and summer, too and for a top price of $2 each, they're certainly worth checking out before you go anywhere else for your outdoor living needs. The eight items mentioned here would cost you $58.74 at Wal-mart. The dollar store versions will only cost you $17.00, including a package of batteries for your butterfly mobile.
