Seven Free Debt Counselling Centres Open Across Canada

Canadians burdened by debt have a new source of help and advice, with the opening of seven new debt counselling centres across Canada. Consolidated Credit Counseling Services of Canada, Inc. is a national non-profit organization
well-versed in financial management and consumer debt strategies that works to find the best debt-reduction solutions for clients based on their individual needs.
Consolidated Credit will open in the following cities in the coming month, with additional offices opening across the country by the end of 2010:
- Montreal, Quebec
- Downtown Toronto, Barrie and Kitchener, Ontario
- Winnipeg, Manitoba
- Calgary, Alberta
- Vancouver, British Columbia
The counselling team at Consolidated Credit teaches consumers how to budget, manage debt and use credit wisely. Canadians can also benefit from the company's free workbooks and guides, face-to-face counselling and referrals to other financial agencies and services. Also offered is a free iPhone and iPod application, "Budget Tool", which can be used to manage expenses on-the-go. The website offers a plethora of resources, including a free web-based budget and debt analysis tool, and tips on smart spending, buying a car, taking out a student loan and a survival guide for holiday spending. An online learning centre offers free personal finance education booklets, financial calculators, resources, tips and suggestions.
