Join the Online Daily Shopping Frenzy

Remember those days when the mall was the only place to find the best deal? You'd spend hours wandering from store to store seeing if you could find the lowest price and most features amongst the numerous offerings.Although many people still enjoy the traditional shopping experience, online shopping has become another way to feed your inner shopping diva - especially if you start early or like to be up late.
One of the most popular categories of websites for shoppers is the deal a day sites - websites that offer a random great deal every day.
In the US, sites such as woot.com, totallyanything.com and redtagcrazy.com are fueling the desire for saving a dollar and a salve to the shopping itch. The category now sports aggregate sites like dodtracker.com and dealadaysites.com to provide a clearing house of sites that are specific daily deals such as babysteals.com or gamedujour.com.
But don't fret - Canadians can enjoy online daily deals too - and there's a couple of new sites to tempt your credit card out of the wallet. One of the originals in Canada is Redflagdeals.com which offers discounts, coupons and scours the weekly flyers to show shoppers where to save money.
But the daily deal sites are here too. For residents of the GTA, Dailyscoop.ca lists its deals for a myriad of items; the recent listings included a set of four wine glasses, foldable shopping basket and a shower AM/FM radio. Toronto residents who are looking for the restaurant or entertainment discount can check out Fabfind.com, which not only features discounts, but encourages you to register and refer friends. Those with click-happy friends can earn money from the site as well as enter the free daily giveaway.
New to Canada is LivingSocial.com, a website that features a daily deal, usually related to entertainment, spa or dining. The site registers members by their city, so when you click on the site the local deal pops up, as well as offering a map to find the location of the deal and savvy tips about the city of choice. Currently, Living Social includes Toronto and Vancouver, with Montreal next on the horizon. The site features London, England as well as over 20 major US cities.
