Save On Home Office Supplies At Dollarama

Setting up a home office doesn't have to be expensive. An article on ThirdAge shows you how to save money when setting up and running a home office. For instance, you will need a good office chair but you don't need to spend a lot on the rest of your office furniture, as your home office isn't likely to have a lot of visitors. As for the smaller necessities, a mug will serve as a pencil holder and you can save on the rest of your home office supplies by buying them at the dollar store. You can get 200 sheets of printer paper for $2 at Dollarama, but it's more cost effective to buy paper in bulk. Other than that, I regularly shop at Dollarama for my home office stationery needs. Here's what you'll find:
Manila Envelopes - These come in two different sizes, in ten or six packs for only a buck each package. You can also get padded mailers for the same money.
No. 10 Envelopes - Many businesses operate on the internet and no longer do mass mailings. If that's the case with your business, you can get a box of 50 envelopes for only a buck or 40 pull and seal envelopes for $1.25. Again, if you anticipate using a lot of envelopes, buy in bulk.
Computer Mailing Labels - 360 ink jet mailing labels are only a buck a package.
Some of the other notable things I've found at the dollar store for my home office include:
White Board - I've got an 11" x 14" white board that I bought at Dollarama for two bucks and it's the perfect size for my needs. Of course, it all depends on how much information you need to keep track of.
Bulletin Board - I haven't seen these in the store lately, but I have a nicely framed 17" x 10" cork board that I also got for $2.
Pre-Inked Stampers - Stampers that say "copy" and "paid" were only $1 each.
Desk Organizer Trays - These are heavy plastic molded desk-drawer organizers that cost $1.50 each.
Magazine Files - These seem to be an organizing staple in every office. Buy them at Dollarama for under $2 each.
Desk Stapler and Staples - I just bought a new six-inch desk stapler that came with a package of 500 staples for $2 and it works great.
Wastebasket - Any old wastebasket will do, but if you want something that says "office," Dollarama has really nice black mesh ones for $2.
The rest of your office supplies will probably include things like paper clips, pushpins, tape, permanent markers, white board markers, highlighters, file folders, pens, notebooks or note pads, sticky notes, and other odds and ends. Find all of these quality products at Dollarama for $1.25 or less each.
