Break a Bad Habit in Six Weeks for Less than $20
Filed under: Health
The New Year arrives and we make resolutions galore. Or maybe just one that we've tried before and failed at. Usually these resolutions have to do with breaking a bad habit. If you're hoping to stop smoking, lose weight or break any other bad habit, have we got a website program for you.The creators of Habit Changer wanted to give anyone the opportunity to kick that bad habit – in six weeks. Through email, text and web access, the website aims to help you achieve goals that many of us face, whether that be overeating, smoking, overspending or getting rid of stress.
According to the site, 69 per cent of participants changed their behaviour, and several participants have posted their success stories in hopes of encouraging you to join them in dropping an unwanted habit or behaviour.
Habit Changer is based on cognitive behavioural theory, commonly used by therapists and psychologists to help individuals slowly modify their decision making process to change unwanted habits.
Created by business gurus Larry Tobin and Carey White, Habit Changer officially launched this year, after several years of development and testing. There is no endorsement on the site by any medical practitioner.
Those who want to put an end to a bad habit choose a program and for six weeks receive daily guidance – challenges that question the existing habit, reinforcements to keep you on track via email and text messages, and 'to do' lists to reinforce the changes they'll make. All the details are housed in an online account with a personalized digital toolbox to help kick overeating, smoking or stress to the curb.
The program is free for those who want to start eating a healthier diet, while those who want to pursue a better financial life or quit smoking, pay a fee of US$19.95. Currently 11 programs are offered on the website, divided into healthy living, healthy eating and healthy finances, with one program offered in Spanish.Habit Changer is based on cognitive behavioural theory, commonly used by therapists and psychologists to help individuals slowly modify their decision making process to change unwanted habits.

You don't need to spend $20.00. Everytime you feel like having a cigarette, just lick the bottom of that ashray in the photo.
