taxesIt's that time of year again: tax filing season. And this year the calendar is giving you a small break: since April 30 falls on a Saturday, you get two extra days to file.

But, if you're like thousands of other Canadians, the May 2 extension to midnight doesn't mean that you'll get your taxes done any sooner.If your spouse, friend or a tax professional is trying to get you to file your taxes, H&R Block Canada has prepared a handy list of Top 10 Excuses which will be sure to get those pests off your back.

1. I decided to file my nails instead of my taxes.
2. I'm not coming out of my house until this "skinny jeans" thing passes.
3. Chuck Norris never had to file taxes. Why should I?
4. I'm waiting for the Leafs to win the Cup.
5. I'm busy today. Gym. Tan. Laundry.
6. I have triskaidekaphobia (fear of the number thirteen)
7. If I file my taxes for 2010, it will draw attention to the fact that I didn't do them in 2009 or 2008.
8. I'm busy trying to keep up with the Kardashians.
