Gilt.com Now Ships to Canada

Gilt.com, the luxury-at-a-bargain online site has been sighed over by many Canadians who would long to buy but couldn't because the site didn't offer online shipping.

So that meant Canadians would either ask their U.S. friends and family to ship their purchases to them or arrange for a U.S. postal address.

That has changed. Gilt Groupe has finally decided to tap into the international market. They recently announced that as of this month they will be shipping to 90 countries, Canada included.Gilt operates on a flash sale basis. Each day several items will go on sale and members will have an opportunity to buy them at a discount. The site also offers items at full-price for those who don't want to stalk their computer for a deal.

Gilt.com is working with FiftyOne for their international transactions but says that members will not be taken to a different site to complete their transaction.

There is a catch. Canadians, while now able to ship goods directly to their home address, won't be able to return any purchases. Another issue is the customs charges that will occur when items cross the border.
