The Recall Report: Barbecues, Pet Food & Weight Loss Drugs

Check your cupboards and be wary of a new barbecue consumers.Health Canada has issue a recall for the Traeger Pellet Grills and the Uberhaus propane barbecue.
The Traeger pellet grills are black and barrel-shaped, and have not been tested to see if they are compliant with Canadian Standards for safety.
There are five models included in the recall: Traeger Junior Grill (BBQ055), Traeger Lil'Tex (BBQ070), Traeger Lil'Tex Elite (BBQ07E), Traeger Texas (BBQ075) and Traeger Deluxe (BBQ300).
Over 4000 Traeger barbecues were sold between May 2005 and April 2011 at various retailers across Canada.
Consumers can contact Traeger Canada East at 1-866-415-8159 for a free inspection to insure the safety of the barbecue.The Uberhaus propane gas barbecue has been recalled due to the possibility of a manufacturing defect that can cause a fire. Barbecues with the model number 780-0002B and serial number 201178000002B.
Health Canada has received one consumer report where flames were seen at the temperature control panel upon ignition of the barbecue.
Over 400 of the barbecues were sold at RONA and Reno-Depot stores across Canada. Consumers are asked to return the barbecue to the retailer for a refund. For more information, contact customer service at 1-866-283-2239.
Canine owners should take note of the following pet food recalls:
Health Canada has issued a recall of 13 different varieties of Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Pet Foods. The affected brands may be contaminated with salmonella bacteria, and either the pet or pet food could affect people. There have been three reports of people contracting salmonella in the United States and Canada.
Over 7500 packages were sold in Canada between January 2012 and May 2012 at a variety of retailers. Consumers are asked to check if their pet food matches any on the list and return to point of sale for a full refund.
Health Canada has also issued a recall of Wellness Super5Mix Large Breed Puppy by WellPet LLC because the pet food may be contaminated with salmonella bacteria.
Almost 1000 packages of the pet food were distributed in Canada through various retailers. Consumers are asked to return the pet food to point of sale for a full refund.
Both pet food brands were manufactured in the United States by Diamond Pet Foods.
Health Canada has issued a recall for Lipro Diet pills and Xiyouji Qingzhi weight loss capsules as they both contain sibutramine, which is not listed in the ingredients and is no longer authorized for sale in Canada due to its side effects such as an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
