dont own a cottage, but that
is all the same stuff that you have to do to maintain your home and live every day life, sour grapes, own a cottage and good on you!
those journalists just need something to write whether it is intelligent or NOT!
Here Here "Dialm" ..... (and when I say "here here" we're "Up North" right now and LOVE every aspect .... bug bites, locating poison ivy, forgetting groceries and running in to town, garbage bins that go missing, and ALL of it. The world is MEANT to be enjoyed .... and "cottaging" as we now verbage it, has a MASS place of joy in our spirit. ANYONE can dislike ANY THING. Perspective of writter appears 'different' than you and I; c'ist la vie!!

Who the heck has to pack to go to your own cottage, where you could keep your bathing suit, shorts, tees, jeans and yes some sunscreen and some repellent ( we put a bug magnet in the woods so bugs really aren't an issue) Caring for our beloved cottage whether it be cleaning or repairing is all part of it. Other family members who weren't interested when my Grandmother died sold their portion to my Dad and so we now are the sole owners. We choose a day midweek to drive and a route that may not be the fastest but the most bucolic so as to avoid the crazy traffic jams, after all, going to the cottage is about vacating your normal routine. Any time I get to spend in this amazing spot in the Muskoka is cherished and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Next summer I plan on refurbishing our little guest house as it hasn't changed since I was a kid...and that was a long time ago :-) Anyone reading this article should take it with a grain of salt. Obviously written by someone who doesn't know how to put extra effort into something so worthwhile. My childhood memories at this cottage are among my most beloved and they sweep over me each and every time I step over that threshold or onto the dock. You just can't out a price tag on that!!
