The Business of Being Royal: How the Royal Family Makes Money

Filed under: Celebs & Money, Weird & Wonderful

how the Royals make moneyWhen it comes to wealth and the Royals, it's a complex web of arrangements: some property is owned by the state, (Buckingham Palace) other property is owned by certain family members, (Sandringham), but for their lifetime only. And doubtless some family members have actual private property that they own free and clear, but the details are not very accessible to the public.

Suffice to say the palaces and properties and works of art will remain with them for generations to come. But we wondered about their day-to-day business interests. Do they have businesses of their own? Do they get a salary from anywhere?

Click on the image below to find out how the Royals (and one notable hanger-on called Pippa), generate revenue.

They earn money by collecting rents and royalties on the properties that their ancestors stole from the people they murdered.

Basically, they live off the crimes of their forefathers..... They are thieves, but the statue of limitations has seemingly run out....
