If you've watched more than one Olympics, you'll notice that the roster of sporting events changes with every edition of the Games. In London, athletes are competing in hundreds of events in 32 different sports, but just five - swimming, gymnastics archery, athletics and fencing - have survived since the very first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Multiple sports have been dropped over the years, due to a lack of competitors or diminishing popularity.
For the first time this year, trampolining will be an official Olympic event, and that's great for Canada, as we have medal contenders on our team. And fans of rugby, baseball, softball and golf will be glad to know that there are plans to reintroduce these sports in upcoming Games.

they need to find a new way for sports marked by judges t o be scored. like marks as in figure skating there is way to much leeway for cheating and fixing marks.

especially the teams from the U.S.A. A real great sport, with highly talented players.
We had to give up softball to watch people bounce up and down on a tramboline,if
that was what turned me on I could simply walk around the neighborhood and
watch it to my heart's content any evening of the week.
