$13 Million Bank Statement Left in Cafe With Message Goes Viral
Filed under: Celebs & Money, Weird & Wonderful
An anonymous millionaire who calls himself 'Bank Statement Guy' has starting taking questions from the public after photos of his bank statements were posted online and went viral. The statements show a balance of more than $13 million, and have messages written on them. The handwritten message on the first statement begins with "The secret to happiness is FREEDOM, and this (arrow pointing to bank account balance) is FREEDOM". The second photo of a bank statement of the same account was posted by BSG himself, to prove he is for real. On that statement he wrote his Facebook page address, which has been Liked by more than 1300 people since he created it yesterday.Apparently the initial bank statement was found at a cafe in downtown Toronto and was posted online by the person who found it. Then, a second second photo of another bank statement was posted by the bank account owner himself, who is now answering questions via a Facebook page and Twitter account, as a self-styled business seer.
It's hard to know exactly where the note first surfaced, though a post on this Canadian deals site might mark its first appearance. It has since popped up on more than a few other internet forums, including this one.
We contacted a spokesperson for the Canadian bank CIBC, and are waiting to hear back from them as to whether the statement is likely to be real. For now, the BSG is taking questions on his Facebook page and answering the ones he finds most interesting.
SLIDESHOW: $13 MILLION BANK STATEMENT GOES VIRAL
Here's the full statement he posted on his Facebook account: "I'm a late 20's something guy who left my near $13 Million Dollar bank statement at a cafe. I later found someone who found it and a picture of it, and that picture has now went viral. My whole purpose was to inspire others, and I figured what better way to do that then to allow these people to ask me questions directly through Facebook.
I'm not going to reveal myself, as from contrary belief to many I am not out to "brag". How can someone truly brag if no one knows who he is?
Some people got my relationship thing wrong; I am not saying to be lonely. I am saying if you're holding on to someone who doesn't FULLY support you, drop them. Simple as that. I have had and will always have a great relationship with my family, but I broke up with my girlfriend of almost three and a half years two years ago because she didn't support me in what I have always wanted to do.
Finally, to those who ask "Why keep all this money in a regular bank account" – I don't. This money is simply one of my businesses' excess cash accounts, it's a CIBC Business Interest Account. It gets transferred out every quarter to various accounts and investments.
Please post any questions you have for me, business or otherwise, and I will respond to them."

I'd like to know if he was FULLY supporting the needs of his girlfriend when he dropped her for not FULLY supporting him.
Is he bragging? Sure he is. He's bragging with a mask on; it is still bragging. And I don't think a bank account is a good measure of a man. And freedom has nothing to do with money.
I'm interested in knowing can you use the money ? How did you start the account?
