Make Some Quick Cash by Selling Your Old Cell Phone

The thing that's always bugged me about most electronic devices is that they have such a short lifespan. Sometimes, even before a year is up, that cell phone you paid $300 for only a few short months ago has been made obsolete by the latest and greatest to hit the market.Having last year's cell phone doesn't bother me in the least but others are bound by some unwritten code that says they always have to have the latest gadget in their hands. To each his/her own, but what to do then, with a fully operational cell phone whose only crime is being last year's tech toy? The answer is to make some quick cash by selling your old cell.
Here are some websites that will allow you to recoup some of the cash you spent on your old cell phone or other electronics and put that money towards paying for a new one. Evidently, the market for old cell phones is booming. You can sell older model items, as well or, at the very least, have your old phones and laptops recycled responsibly.
CellCycle.ca
Besides used cell phones, this company also buys net book computers and tablets. There's an online price list that will give you an approximate value for your old cell phone but what you actually get will depend on the condition your device is in.
All you do is print the postage paid mailing label you'll find online, along with a completed claim form; one for each device you're sending in. They will evaluate the condition and send you a cheque by mail.
You can also mail in broken cell phones the same way so they can be recycled, rather than landing in the trash. To raise money for your charity, collect a minimum of ten pounds of old cell phones, working or not, and CellCycle will buy them.
SellYourElectronics.ca
This website offers you an instant quote online. Simply answer four simple questions to find the potential worth of your device. Besides cell phones, they accept MP3 players, digital cameras, tablets and camcorders.
When you decide to sell to this website, they will mail you a shipping kit with a prepaid shipping label. Once received, they will check the device over and your payment will be processed within four days.
YouRenew.com
This website is looking to buy cell phones, notebooks, MP3 players and tablets. You get an online quote and, if you decide to sell, they'll send you a shipping label for UPS. If your device passes their inspection, you'll be paid by cheque or PayPal.
BuyBackWorld.com
This company is looking for your older model headphones, video games, home audio equipment, Apple and Mac computers, e-readers and a lot more. The process is the same as the previous two websites - after you answer some questions, they provide postage for mailing and, after they inspect the device, a payment will be made to you within a week.
As in any transaction, it pays to shop around to see who will offer you the most for your old device. Be sure to back up and clear your personal data from any electronics you ship and remember to remove the SIM card from your phone.
If your old cell phone is ancient by tech standards and therefore not worth anything, it's still better to pass it along to a company who can dispose of it properly. In that way, we'll keep cadmium, lead and mercury out of our water and soil.
