There's many differences between Canadians and Americans, and when it comes to snacking, our palates are making us reach for different snacks.
According to recent studies by The NPD Group, a market research group, when its comes to snacking, Canadians prefer salty or savoury snacks like cheese, crackers and chips, while Americans choose sweet snacks.
But, we all appreciate convenience, and the survey found that easy meals will increase in sales, such as yoghurt, fruit, snack bars and heat and eat entrees like frozen pizza and canned soup.
The NPD Group conducted two surveys, A Look into the Future of Eating - Canadian Marketplace and A Look into the Future of Eating - US Marketplace and found distinct trends for what we'll be putting in the grocery cart or buying on the fly over the next 10 years.
