Oksana Grigorieva has been called "the Hollywood version of the tacky Russian bride." Ouch. She was the girlfriend of Mel Gibson, who did seem to be one of those opportunistic types who prey on the wealthy (and in Mel Gibson's case, disgraced) men of a certain age. Observers did start to sympathize with her after she claimed he assaulted her. But when she dropped those charges and Gibson pled guilty to misdemeanor charges, the tide turned. Not that everything is rosy for Mel. His image is still in tatters, years after his infamous anti-Semitic tirade.
