Extracurricular Sports for Your Kids
Soccer
Apparently if your child plays an outdoor team sport she's likelier to be a happier, healthier individual. Studies have shown that not only does participating in team sports boost mental health but so does taking part in outdoor activities. So it would seem outdoor soccer is a win-win combination. While learning to work with others towards a common goal, your child is getting good exercise in the refreshing autumn air and making a few friends along the way. It won't break the bank, either. In an outdoor soccer league, the fee is around $175 per person for about three months or if you go with fall soccer classes, the cost for a program that runs for a month in the fall (an hour per class) is about $70. You can start your kids early too, usually at age four.
