SLIDESHOW: Rich, Young Entertainers
- Kristen Stewart
She hit the jackpot when she landed the role of sweet and cynical Bella Swan in the dark vampire series The Twilight Saga. This year, Stewart topped the Forbes list of highest paid actresses in Hollywood. She reportedly made $34.5 million between May 2011 and May 2012 from her work on Twilight as well as her starring role in the film Snow White and the Huntsman. Stewart, 22, was the youngest actress on the list. Having Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson as her doting, real-life boyfriend certainly hasn't hurt her popularity but whether her widely reported cheating scandal with Snow White director Rupert Sanders last summer will thwart her career remains to be seen. With The Twilight Saga's final installment Breaking Dawn - Part 2 opening in theatres mid November, and her rumoured reunion with Pattinson, I'm guessing no -- fans still seem to be smitten.
- Robert Pattinson
His chiseled cheekbones no doubt helped him land the role of the inwardly tormented vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight. No doubt his onscreen chemistry with Stewart also helped secure his legions of fans worldwide. Pattinson, 26, earned $26.5 million in the past year, tying for tenth spot with fellow Twilight actor Taylor Lautner on the Forbes highest-paid actors list. Pattinson continues to take on interesting roles -- he recently earned accolades for starring in Canadian director David Cronenberg's thriller Cosmopolis. But right now he is sitting tight in the spotlight, working the red carpet for the new Breaking Dawn movie. All eyes are on him and Stewart to make off-screen appearances now that they are rumoured to be back together.
- Taylor Lautner
The werewolf/vampire love triangle in The Twilight Saga certainly has paid off for everyone involved. Lautner, who -- for those who have been asleep during the entire Twilight movement -- plays Jacob Black, a werewolf in love with Stewart's character Bella (who is in love with the vampire played by Pattinson). As you read in the previous entry, Lautner made $26.5 million in the past year. At 20, Lautner was the youngest actor on the Forbes list. Instead of showing off his cheekbones, Lautner has spent most of The Twilight Saga without a shirt on. Although his personal life has not been publicized nearly as much as his Twilight/Forbes list co-stars, Lautner has been rumoured to have had a brief fling with another Taylor on this list.
- Taylor Swift
She's been named by Forbes as the highest paid star under 30. At 22, the country singer made $57 million last year to rise above top earners like Lady Gaga and Rihanna. So how did she do it? She's had three hugely successful albums, a sold-out international tour and lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Cover Girl. Swift, who's had a string of hits including Mean and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, is known for having tumultuous relationships and then writing about them. Fans can look out for future songs about her reported split from Conor Kennedy.
- Justin Bieber
The Canadian superstar from Stratford, Ont., earned $55 million in the past year from concerts, music sales and endorsements for products like Proactiv. Bieber -- who was the second highest paid celebrity under 30 on the Forbes list -- has also invested in start-ups including Stamped and Viddy. The pop star, now 18, was barely into his teens when he became a worldwide sensation with hits like Baby and Never Say Never. He's also known for dating singer Selena Gomez, though it's been widely reported that they recently broke up or are having "relationship trouble." But a "friend" reportedly said "they are still very much together."
- Ashton Kutcher
The Two and a Half Men star previously known for dating Demi Moore is the highest paid TV actor, making $700,000 per episode. According to Forbes, he made about $24 million last year from May 2011 to May 2012. Taking over from Charlie Sheen in his role on the sitcom, Kutcher is proving he can headline a hit. Kutcher, 34, also made an investment in Skype in its early days which has likely helped his bottom line. The actor continues to make news with his love life -- making regular appearances with actress Mila Kunis at restaurants and on sidewalks around the globe.
- Kim Kardashian
The reality TV personality on Keeping Up With The Kardashians earned $18 million over the past year according to Forbes, through signing on for three more seasons of the show, as well as her four-hour wedding special on E!. Kardashian, 32, is obviously as savvy a businesswoman as she is an onscreen attention-grabber: she's launched a clothing line, a signature perfume and a "specialty store" at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas. And who else would this flashy personality be dating? Another flashy personality that is Kanye West.
