According to a 2009 survey by Speedy Corporation, 42 per cent of Canadian women surveyed said they thought they were quoted more for being a woman. Adding insult to injury, 43 per cent of the women surveyed said they received sub-par quality service. There are also hints of some regional disparities, with 58 per cent of women in B.C. and Alberta saying they received sub-par service, while only 28 per cent of women in Quebec said they were treated differently.
